Start With the Basics: Where Are You Getting It?

Stick to the official sources. Just like you wouldn't buy medication from a stranger on the street, you shouldn't download apps from unfamiliar websites. Use:

• The App Store (for iPhones and iPads)
• Google Play Store (for Android phones)

If someone emails you a link to download something, be extra careful, even if it looks like it's from a friend.

Read What Others Are Saying

Before trying a new restaurant, you probably check the reviews, right? Do the same with apps. Look at the star ratings and read a few reviews, especially the recent ones.

Warning signs to watch for:
